III. Project Description
L16/24 and L21/31 diesel engines have been developed recently by German MAN B&W Corp. At present, both types of diesel engines have been used widely in mammoth tankers, van containers and bulk carriers, accounting for 35% in international market, and ranking the first among internationally renowned brands.
L16/24 and L21/31 diesel engines have extensively adopted high power density technology, low-temperature combustion technology, modular design technology, non-pipe design technology, low-emission technology and electronic control technology, so it represents the advanced technologies in the diesel engine industry. Characterized by small size, light weight, large power, good economic performance, qualified emission, clean and aesthetic appearance, simple operation, convenient maintenance, heavy-oil combustion, and long service life, they have been highly recognized universally in shipbuilding industry.
The Project attempts to produce foreign advanced L16/24 and L21/31 diesel engines under the existing domestic conditions, in order to raise ship-loading rate of domestic equipments from 30% to 80%. By the end of "The 11th Five-Year Plan" period, the annual output will reach 600 sets of diesel engines, and output value will reach up to 1.8 billion Yuan.

IV. Total Investment and Cooperation Form
Total investment of the project is 50 million Yuan. Cooperation form: joint venture or cooperation.

V. Anticipation of Market and Analysis of Investment Return
If the profit of each unit is calculated by 5%, the annual profit of 90 million Yuan will be realized.
