Ancient City Tourism Zone Project in Hancheng
Subproject 1: The Tourism Development of Sima Qian Memorial Temple

Construction content: Sima Qian Shrine is the mausoleum of Sima Qian, a famous historian, litterateur and thinker in China and historical and cultural celebrity in the world. Sima Qian Shrine is a national key protection unit, and also one of the most influential tourism resources in Hancheng. The Scenic Spot is adjacent to Yellow River in the east, to Mt. Liangshan in the west, full of hills and rivers. Through comprehensive analysis of tourism resources, infrastructure conditions, and geographical location conditions (More than 1,000mu wetlands at the foot of Sima Qian Shrine can be used for development), Sima Qian Shrine has the most favorable conditions for development. It is to further explore Sima culture and Han culture, expand the scale of scenic spot, and enrich sightseeing contents. By attracting foreign investment, the Project will develop interactive leisure items---Hanfeng Park, construct previous reputation lists (Open pavilion and corridor), St. Gongdelin, Han Tea Drinking Bar, Chinese bamboo book store, design Han life sacrificial and living scene show, and build Sima Qian's Memorial Park, so as to improve the quality and grade of scenic spots, and enhance tourists’ participation and entertainment.
Total investment: 20 million Yuan. Cooperation form: outside the scope of heritage protection and construction control belt, it adopts common management, leasing, and transfer of management rights.
Anticipation of Market and Analysis of Investment Return: The scenic spot may receive 130,000 overseas and domestic visitors every year, and total revenues from tourism are more than 5 million Yuan. The project district has superior geographical location, tremendous potential for development, and broad market prospects. After the Project is completed, the annual profits are expected to reach up to 6 million Yuan.

Subproject 2: Temple Tourism Area Project of Hancheng City
Project Unit: Hancheng Cultural Relics and Tourism Bureau
Project Description: ancient urban area of Hancheng is the core area of the famous historic and cultural city. It also is one of 4 major scenic spots. The scenic spot of the ancient city consists of three parts, namely, an ancient street (Jincheng Street) in the middle, the ancient building cluster of temples in the east and civilian residence clusters in the west. The ancient temple tourism area, centered the three group of ancient building group (Temple of Confucius, Zhiying Temple and Temple of Town God), covers an area of 80,000 m². The comprehensive museum with ancient architecture museum, local culture representation and special folk custom as main content has been formed gradually. Meantime, it shall be developed with other scenic spots harmoniously and simultaneously. It represents the local cultural characteristics of Hancheng. The project is planned to be built within 5 years. The contents: ① Historic and Cultural Area of Hancheng, centered on Temple of Confucius, covers an area of 25000 m²; ② Tourism Service Center, centered on Dongying Temple, covers an area of 15000 m²; ③ Folk Custom Culture Park, centered on the Temple of Town God, recovers part of ancient building and it covers an area of 30000 m²; ④ Xuexiang Culture Street (500m) connects Temple of Confucius and Jincheng Street; ⑤ A Street with local specialties: to recover ancient shops of Huangmiao lane, forming a street selling local products and tourist souvenirs of Hancheng; ⑥ There are 8 ancient lanes and over 30 courtyard houses in the surrounding areas of Civilian Residence of Ancient Lane. These service projects such as home-hotel, eatery and tea house can be developed.
Total investment: 42.5 million Yuan. Cooperation form: joint management, lease, management power transfer beyond cultural relics protection.
Anticipation of Market and Analysis of Investment Return: the project formally was founded in 2004. The three temples “Temple of Confucius, Zhiying Temple and Temple of Town God” have been connected elementarily. At present, the maintenance and recovery of Temple of Town God is underway. The scenic spot enjoys favorable position. It located in the east of ancient urban, which has sound infrastructure, huge development potential and broad market prospect. After the completion of the project, the annual profit is estimated to be 9 million Yuan.

Subproject 3: Comprehensive Tourism Development Project of Dangjia Village
Project Unit: Village Committee of Dangjia Village of Hancheng City
Project Description: Dangjia Village, about 9 km northeast of Hancheng City, is a key state-protected cultural relics unit, Chinese civilian residence and the famous historic and cultural village of China. The village site is rational and the building is superexcellent. The cultural connotation is profound. There are over one hundred courtyard houses, memorial temple, Wenxing pavilion, fealty steles and other ancient architectures as well as some ancient defense equipments such as city wall, guard tower, Biyang Fortress, emplacement and sentry box. They are kept well. It has high packaging and development value. The project aims at the overall packaging and further development. The main contents: ① maintaining existing ancient buildings; ② reinforcing and developing ancient fortress; ③ recovering the ancient temples and sentry boxes and guard towers; ④ opening folk customs museum; and ⑤ perfecting supported facilities of tourism.
Total investment: 40 million Yuan. Cooperation form: cooperation or joint venture.　
Anticipation of Market and Analysis of Investment Return: the project enjoys obvious characteristics and high resource value. It has good fame of “Gem of Civilian Residence”. The development potential is huge and the market prospect is broad. The annual profit is estimated to be 8 million Yuan.
