Xi'an Baqiao Industrial Park (XBIP) was approved by Shaanxi provincial government in September, 2002. It was then ratified by the State Council as one of the four provincial-level development zones of Xi'an in 2006.

The park is located in the urban area along Bahe River, with a total planned area of 9 square km. In its east is Bahe River bank; Xi'an -Tongguan highway and Guangyuntan International Exhibition Center are in its north, Baqiao Power Plant in its west and Xi'an-Ankang railway in its south.

The total area of the park is planned to cover four different zones, namely: textile logistics zone, residential area, public facility area, eco-tourism and recreation zone. We aim to construct an environment-friendly ecological city with harmonious development of logistics and business, science and education, R&D, tourism and luxurious residential areas. Up to now, 2,000 mu of the land has been reserved, and nearly 1,000 mu of water surface is formed. Road planning, network construction, river harnessing and development are under construction. Xi'an New Land Technology Development Co. Ltd., a subsidiary of US-listed China Housing and Land Development Group, has already moved into the park. A number of domestic enterprises, such as Xi'an Water Supply Company, the Textile Town Passenger Transport Limited and Shaanxi Best Enterprise Group have registered respectively.

The park enjoys geographical advantages and convenient transportation network. There are Longhai railway, Xikang railway, national highway 108 and 312 within the park. Four express highways from Xi'an to Lintong, Yanliang, Lantian, and the city ring expressway run across the park and then join the national highway network. It is merely 25 minutes’ drive to Xianyang International Airport, and 20 minutes’ drive to Xi'an National Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Xi'an Economic Technological Development Zone respectively.
