China and Switzerland Launch Joint Upgraded Research of Free Trade
 
On January 16 2017, local time, when President Xi Jinping paid a state visit to Switzerland, Chinese Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng jointly signed the Upgraded MOU of China-Switzerland FTA between the Ministry of Commerce of PRC and the Federal Department of Economic Affairs, Education and Research of Switzerland with the Minister Schneider-Ammann under the witness of the leaders of the two countries, announcing to launch the joint upgraded research of China-Switzerland FTA.


China-Switzerland FTA was signed in July 2013 and implemented in July 2014. It is a high-quality and win-win agreement with abound content, as well as the first FTA signed between China and continental European countries. The signing and implementation of the agreement plays a positive role in deepening bilateral trade and economic cooperation and promoting the trade and economic development of the two countries.

China and Switzerland launch the joint upgraded research of the FTA and jointly discuss the possibility of improving and enriching the agreement content. These will further improve the trade and economic cooperation level of the two countries and create favorable conditions for promoting China-Switzerland trade and economic cooperation to reach a new level.
