Prices of Edible Agricultural Products Drop Slightly and Prices of Means of Production Continue to Increase

 

According to the watchdog of the Ministry of Commerce, last week (July 10-July 16), the market price index of edible agricultural products went down by 0.4% over the previous week and that of production means increased by 0.5% over the previous week.

In the market of farm produce: the average price of 30 kinds of vegetables decreased 0.6% over the previous week, among which the prices of wax gourd, eggplant and bitter gourd went down by 11.1%, 7.1% and 5% respectively. The price of meet was stable with a slight decline, with the prices of pork and mutton staying the same as in the previous week, and that of beef down 0.2%. The price of edible oil maintained stable, with the prices of soybean oil, peanut oil and rapeseed oil being the same as in the previous week. The average price of aquatic product remained stable as in the previous week, with the prices of chub, grass carp and big hairtail down 1%, 0.7% and 0.6% respectively, and those of large yellow croaker, crucian and little yellow croaker up 1.3%, 1.1% and 0.6% respectively. The prices of poultry products mainly decreased, with those of duck and eggs down 0.9% and 0.6% respectively, and that of chicken up 0.2%. The prices of grain and food fluctuated, with the price of rice down 0.2% and that of flour up 0.3%.

In the market of means of production: the price of steel went up 1.2% compared with that of previous week, among which the prices of hot rolled strip, hot rolled common sheet, common middle plate and high-speed wire rod went up 2.2%, 1.8%, 1.5% and 1.4% respectively. The price of basic chemical raw materials increased by 0.6%, with the prices of sodium carbonate, caustic soda, sulfuric acid and purified petroleum benzine up 1%, 0.9%, 0.5% and 0.3% respectively, and that of methyl alcohol down 0.2%. The price of non-ferrous metal increased 0.5%, with the prices of nickel, lead, zinc, tin, aluminum and copper up 1.4%, 1.3%, 1.1%, 0.8%, 0.5% and 0.1% respectively. The price of coal went up 0.1%, with that of coking coal up 0.7%, that of blind coal down 0.1%, and that of steam coal staying the same as in the previous week. The price of chemical fertilizer remained stable, with the prices of urea, KCL and Dap being the same as the previous week, and that of NPK down 0.1%. The price of rubber remained stable, with the price of synthetic rubber up 0.2% and that of natural rubber down 0.1%.
