The 9th Round of Negotiation of China-Norway Free Trade Agreement Held in Beijing

On August 21-23 2017, the 9th round of negotiation of China-Norway free trade agreement was held in Beijing. Both sides conducted negotiations on issues such as trade in goods, service trade, investment, IPR, environment, competition policies, e-commerce, government purchasing and laws.

The negotiation of China-Norway free trade agreement was launched in September 2008. On April 7, 2017, Premier Li Keqiang and the Prime Minister of Norway Solberg witnessed the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding on Recovering China-Norway Free Trade Agreement Negotiation by China International Trade Representative and Vice Minister of Commerce Fu Ziying and Norway Minister of Trade and Industry Monica Mæland in Beijing. This is the first round of negotiation after the recovering of China-Norway free trade agreement negotiation. Considering the strong economic complementarity and solid cooperation base between China and Norway, the recovering of the free trade agreement negotiation will certainly deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, benefit the enterprises and people from both countries and push their trade and economic relationship to a new level.
