Prices of Edible Agricultural Products and Means of Production Continue to Increase

According to the watchdog of the MOFCOM, the national market price index of edible agricultural products increased by 0.2% over the previous week (August 21-27) and that of the means of production rose by 0.8% over the previous week.

In the market of edible agricultural products: the price of poultry increased at different degrees, with the prices of eggs, duck and chicken up 3.7%, 1.2% and 1% respectively. The average price of 30 kinds of vegetables increased by 1.1% over the previous week, with the prices of asparagus lettuce, lettuce and scallion up 8.8%, 6.9% and 6.1% respectively. The price of meat went up slightly, with those of pork and beef up 0.6% and 0.4% respectively and that of mutton the same as that in the previous week. The price of edible oil increased slightly, with the prices of peanut oil and rapeseed up 0.2% and 0.1% respectively, and that of soybean oil the same as that in the previous week. The prices of grain and food remained stable, with the prices of rice and flour the same as that in the previous week. The average price of aquatic products decreased by 0.4%, with the prices of hairtail, crucian carp and grass carp down 2%, 0.7% and 0.7% respectively.

In the market of production means, the price of steel increased by 1.6%, with the prices of seamless steel tube, welded steel tube, high speed wire rod, and round steel up 3%, 2.2%, 1.8% and 1.5% respectively. The price of non-ferrous metal increased by 1.3%, with the prices of nickel, zinc, copper and aluminum up 8.2%, 1.9%, 1.4% and 1.1% respectively, and that of lead and tin down 2% and 0.6% respectively. The price of rubber increased by 0.8%, with those of synthetic rubber and natural rubber up 1.4% and 0.3% respectively. The price of basic chemical raw materials went up 0.4%, with the prices of methyl alcohol, caustic soda, sodium carbonate and pure benzene up 1.4%, 1%, 0.6% and 0.4% respectively and that of sulphuric acid down 0.5%. The price of coal increased by 0.1%, with the prices of steam coal up 0.2% and blind coal down 0.1%, and that of coking coal the same as that in the previous week. The price of chemical fertilizer remained stable, with the prices of KCL, DAP and NPK the same as those in the previous week, and that of urea down 0.1%.
