Shaanxi Province wins National Science and Technology Awards for 36 scientific and technological achievements

On January 8th, the National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in Beijing. Shaanxi Province was granted the National Science and Technology Awards for thirty six scientific and technological achievements, carrying off 13.28% of all the awards including six Natural Science Awards, nine Technological Invention Awards and twenty one Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. Nineteen of the award-winning projects are led by Shaanxi Province, and fourteen of them are general-purpose projects, making Shaanxi the 4th biggest province in the country in this regard.

Three of the six projects winning Natural Science Awards are led by Shaanxi Province, namely “Theory and Method of Transmission, Accumulation and Transformation of Multiphase Flows in Solar Photocatalytic Process for H2 Production” by Academician Guo Liejin et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University, “Internal and External Micronanoelectronic Effect of Strengthening Mechanisms of Metal Materials” by Professor Sun Jun et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and “A Study of the Methodology of Coded Aliasing and Computational Reconstruction” by Professor Shi Guangming et al. of Xidian University.

Five of the nine projects winning Technological Invention Awards are led by Shaanxi Province, including four general-purpose projects, namely “Preparation Technology of Porous Materials with High Performance Metal Powder and its Application” by Professor Tang Huiping et al. of Northwest Institute for Nonferrous Metal Research, “Network Resource Control Technology for Dense Wireless Communication Systems” by Professor Li Jiandong et al. of Xidian University, “High Dynamic MEMS Piezoresistive Sensors and Related Products” by Professor Zhao Yulong et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University, and “Dynamic Analysis Technology of Multi-factor Cross-dimension Strong Coupling of Advanced Nuclear Power Systems and its Application” by Professor Su Guanghui et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University.

Eleven of the twenty one projects winning Scientific and Technological Progress Awards, are led by Shaanxi Province, including seven general-purpose projects, namely “Numerical Prediction of Heat and Mass Transfer and its Engineering Application” by a team led by Academician Tao Wenquan and Academician He Yaling of Xi’an Jiaotong University, “Big Data Technology for Taxation and its Application” by Professor Zheng Qinghua et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University, “Flue Gas Cooling Technology for Reducing Low-Temperature Corrosion through Gas-Liquid Coagulation and Absorption and its Application” by Professor Zhao Qinxin et al. of Xi’an Jiaotong University, “Research, Development and Promotion of Technology for Large-scale Replacement of Cement Clinker with Metallurgical Slag in the Production of High Performance Eco-friendly Cementitious Materials” by Academician Xu Delong et al. of Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, “Structure Control Technology for Adsorption and Separation of Polymeric Materials and its Industrial Application” by Professor Zhang Qiuyu et al. of Northwestern Polytechnical University, “Generic Technology for Producing High Performance Fiber-based Functional Materials and its Application” by Professor Zhang Meiyun et al. of Shaanxi University of Science and Technology, and “New Liver Transplantation Technology – Heterotopic Auxiliary Liver Transplantation and its Application” by Professor Dou Kefeng et al. of the Fourth Military Medical University.
