Xi’an and Tongchuan were listed in the Happiest Cities in China

Under the theme of “Achieving Happiness Through the Reform and Opening-up Policy”, the Happiest Cities Forum in China 2018 was held in Guangzhou on November 26th. Xi’an and Tongchuan were listed in the Happiest Cities in China again.

Since its launch in May, more than 10 million person-times from 96 prefecture-level cities and above, as well as 101 county-level cities had been involved in the public survey, survey sampling and big data collection, with a total of 1.18 million effective samples. Ten cities including Chengdu, Ningbo, Hangzhou, Xi’an, Nanjing, Guangzhou and Tongchuan were voted as the Happiest Cities in China in 2018.

The evaluation system of the activity was developed and operated by the Liaowang Institute. It formed an investigation and evaluation model for 16 indexes including education, medical services, income, environment, public service, security, future anticipation, etc. according to the research over the past 12 years on the sense of happiness in cities. As the strategic partner on data of the forum, the Business Intelligence Lab (BIL) of Baidu analyzed the big data in the objective survey. In this course, 95% of Chinese netizens were covered in the samples and over ten trillion units of behavior data were put into use in the index design.
